DNA Extraction – UFS-NGS

DNA extraction is the technique used to remove DNA from cell membranes, proteins, and other cellular components in a biological sample.

Tagged Cell Lysis: Breaking open the cell membranes to release the DNA into the solution., DNA Precipitation/Binding: Isolating the DNA from the liquid by making it clump together (using alcohol) or bind to a filter., Elution: Washing and re-dissolving the purified DNA into a clean buffer or water for storage and use., Removal of Contaminants: Separating the DNA from proteins, fats, and other cellular debris.
