Visiting UCT researcher to make presentations on Proteomics at the UFS-NGS Unit

The UFS-NGS Unit is hosting Dr. Javan Okendo, a bioinformatician from the Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Cape Town, from 25th July to 29 July 2022. Dr. Okendo will speak on two aspects of integrating proteomics in medical research.

  1. RNAseq deconvolution identifies immune cell populations associated with susceptibility and protection against Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection in humans (26 July 2022).
  2. Metaproteomic profiling of human bronchoalveolar lavage fluid reveals lung microbiota associated with M.tb susceptibility (27 July 2022).
